A Notary Public and an Oath Commissioner, uproot is able to certify true copies of documents, certify transactions and signatures in addition to commissioning documents and swearing oaths. A Notary is usually a member of a law society; a commissioner is a member of a legislative assembly, a provincial judge, justice of the peace, or certain officers of the government.
In summary, lawyers and paralegals are automatically commissioned as Commissioners for Taking Oaths by virtue of their positions, but not as Notaries Publics. Nevertheless, as law society members, we are eligible to apply to become a Notary Public without any additional examination. Below are some examples of documents I can notarize for you.
